My attempt at my boyfriend's 30th birthday cake. It was a fudge-y flourless chocolate cake but. Lopsided (even with only one layer!) and crispy on the edges.
Most things I try to bake end up getting the same review: "well, it tastes good..."
It can be hard to mess up the taste of chocolate cake or sugar cookies. But apparently it's very easy to screw up how they look. Burning cookies is just beginning! My cake-writing penmanship is horrible and my icing technique leaves a lot to be desired. At least I'm not alone.
